Making sense of the many ‘octopus arms’ of Steve Martin’s life

Morgan Neville’s Apple TV+ documentary “STEVE! (martin) a documentary in two pieces,” which premieres Friday, is an attempt to synthesize all the Steve Martins, or at least line them up next to each other. The cast of the new Apple TV+ series, which includes Kristen Wiig, Laura Dern (also an executive producer), Allison Janney and Leslie Bibb, impressed comedy legend Carol Burnett enough to sign onto the show, even though Burnett’s character spends multiple episodes in a coma. The series, set in 1969, takes a satirical look at the lengths a woman takes for acceptance into high society.
