Easy Strawberry Shortcake

This recipe serves:  6

Ingredients
1 quart strawberries, fresh
2 tablespoons sugar (or to taste)
1- 9 inch commercial angel food cake
1 cup strawberry sorbet
Cooking Instructions

1. Wash and slice the strawberries.

2. Mix the strawberries with sugar and let sit for at least 30 minutes or for up to one day in the refrigerator.

3. Slice angel food cake into 1-inch thick slices.

4. Spoon 1/3 cup strawberries and their juices on and around the cake. Top with a small scoop of strawberry sorbet. Serve immediately.

Serving Size: 1/6 of cake with strawberries and sorbet
